Catholic Diocese of Butare

The Diocese of Butare is located in the county of Rwanda, Africa. It is a thriving diocese with nearly a half million Catholics, 125 priests, and over 500 nuns and related clergy. Headed by Bishop Philippe Rukamba, the diocese is instrumental in the education of the area children, and providing other services to the people of Rwanda.

This website is created for the world community to provide them with information as to the working of the diocese, as well as their various missions to help the people of Rwanda. It is a small effort that we hope will allow others to see the works that are being done, and to give those who would like to help in our efforts an outlet to provide assistance to their brothers and sisters in Christ in Africa.
